Magic Of Solutions

Chemistry can be almost as much fun as magic tricks.

Jesus Mary Joseph School conducted an activity “Magic Of Solutions -The Chemical traffic light” on 15th December ’2022 for the students of classes IX-XII. Through this activity, students demonstrated a dramatic redox reaction that changes colours between yellow, green, and red. When the indicator (indigo carmine) is mixed with the alkali glucose solution, the changes in colour will occur.

Students were able to understand that this Magical colour change takes place when the concentrations of the products and reactants (within a particular reaction mixture) changes periodically.  Overall the students enjoyed performing this experiment in the lab under the guidance of Ms. PreethiBaiju.
