“Psychological First Aid – Needed Now more Than Ever”

“Psychological First Aid – Needed Now more Than Ever”

Psychological First Aid (PFA) is an evidence-informed approach that is built on the concept of human resilience. It was developed by the National Centre for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (NC-PTSD), a section of the United States Department of Veterans Affairs, in 2006. PFA aims to reduce stress symptoms and assist in a healthy recovery following a traumatic event, natural disaster, public health emergency, or even a personal crisis.

“we often neglect our psychological wounds until they become severe enough to impair our functioning.” Psychological First Aid is tool that each of us can use to reduce our stress level. By understanding your stress reactions and utilizing Psychological First Aid principles, you can enhance resilience in yourself, your family, workplace, and community.

In order to raise awareness about the importance of Psychological First Aid , Jesus Mary Joseph Sr. Sec School organized a poster making activity on Psychological First Aid  on 13 April 2022 for the students of class XI and XII. An attempt was made through this poster making activity to educate the students about Psychological First Aid, importance of Psychological First Aid for our wellbeing in families , workplace and personal lives.
