SALT PENDULUM

SALT PENDULUM

\"Science is a beautiful gift to humanity; we should not distort it.\" All of us do not have equal talent. But, all of us have an equal opportunity to develop our talents

Jesus Mary Joseph Sr. Sec. School conducted an activity \'Salt Pendulum\' on 29 November 2022 for students of class XII (Science Stream)

A pendulum is something that is hung from a fixed point that swings back and forth.  The time that it takes a pendulum to swing back to where it started is called the “period of the pendulum.”

When you make your own salt pendulum, changing the period of the pendulum and experimenting with how long the string is will determine what patterns of salt fall onto the paper below the pendulum. It’s quite fascinating to see the patterns that a pendulum makes when they are outlined with salt.

Students participated enthusiastically in this enriching and highly informative activity, conducted under the guidance of Ms. Sharmila R Nair.
